October 7, 2021

Due to COVID-19 our office is taking social distancing seriously and providing a safe environment for patients to receive necessary eye care.

The Manitoba Clinic is screening all patients at the front door. If you are ill or have flu-like symptoms you will be asked to reschedule your appointment. If you are ill but require emergency retinal care we will still see you but your appointment will be moved to the Misericordia Health Centre. If you are able, please come to your appointment alone. If you require an escort due to reduced vision or mobility you can bring a maximum of 1 person with you.

There may be a longer wait to get up to the office as we are limiting the number of people allowed in the elevator at one time.

You will notice that our waiting room is more spread out and there are fewer places to sit. We are working our hardest to keep the flow of our office as efficient as possible to limit crowding.

We are all vaccinated and we encourage you to get vaccinated as well.

We are following the guidance of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Canadian Retina Society and the American Society of Retinal Specialists.

There is always an ophthalmologist on-call at the Misericordia Health Centre after hours but we would recommend that you call health links (204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257) rather than just show up so we can triage your issue on the phone and decide whether it requires an in-person visit.

We are seeing patients and are here for you.
