About dr manusow

 

Dr Manusow was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

He is on the faculty of the University of Manitoba Department of Ophthalmology. He trains vitreo-retinal surgical fellows, residents, and medical students. He performs surgery and has privileges at the Misericordia Health Centre and The Children's Hospital of Winnipeg.

He competed a BSc(Hons) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University. He received his MD as well as a BSc(Med) in experimental surgery from the University of Manitoba Medical School.

Dr Manusow completed his ophthalmology residency training at the University of Toronto where he served as chief resident.

He completed additional fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery, medical retina, uveitis, and pediatric retina at Toronto Western Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, The Hospital for Sick Children, and the Kensington Eye Institute in Toronto.

Dr Manusow is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.

He has won numerous awards for surgery, teaching, research, and patient care.

He consults on all medical and surgical diseases of the retina including but not limited to diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreomacular traction, ocular trauma, complications of cataract surgery, endophthalmitis, uveitis, paediatric retinal conditions, and inherited retinal conditions.

He is an active member of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, Canadian Retina Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, Doctors Manitoba, the Ontario Medical Association, the Canadian Medical Association, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. He is a board member on the eye physicians and surgeons of Manitoba and on the Royal College ophthalmology nucleus committee.
